Caroline Monk

Executive Partner

I’m Caroline, and I head up the firm, along with Maria. The two of us work hard to make sure that Beever and Struthers stays close to its roots. Providing our clients with a service that’s friendly, no-nonsense – and definitely not short on expertise.

What this means is that I help our clients develop their businesses through a wide range of audit, accounting and tax compliance issues – advising on best practice and being a “level head” when it comes to business strategy, structuring or governance.

My story
I qualified as a chartered accountant with an international audit firm. I then joined a small audit firm based in Manchester, where I focussed on looking after owner managed businesses, taking responsibility for their compliance matters but also enjoying the interaction with their families.

I joined the team as a Partner in 2003, leading the private sector audit team. Now I steer the firm with Maria, but still retain a client portfolio keeping me in touch with our clients and what we do.

Just in case I get bored, I head up our International team too! Our firm is part of HLB International – a fast-growing dynamic network of independent professional accounting firms and business advisors who provide a local service to companies with a global reach.

I do this too…
Mainly acting as unpaid taxi driver for my three children! But music has always been my thing. I still enjoy playing with orchestras in South Manchester, and am now very proud to be working with Manchester Camerata, a recognised charity and leading orchestra as a board member.

I am also a keen dinghy sailor, taking part in competitions including the odd National Championship. Any remaining spare time will see me walking the hills with my husband and dog. Basically having fun!
