Case study Spend on stock items for responsive repairs
We used data mining to conduct analysis of the stock holding and materials usage for an in house repairs company. This identified: 65 lines of current stock items which were not used in a 3 month period. 53 items where insufficient stock was held of frequently used items, meaning operatives had to visit the stock supplier before work could be completed. In addition, we analysed the usage of materials across operatives to identify any trends which might indicate poor treatment of, or a security issue with stock, which could then be addressed with the staff to reduce loss.
